Speaker, CS review progress of Legislature Complex Jammu | KNO

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 29 (KNO): Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly, Dr Nirmal Singh today reviewed the progress of ongoing work of new Legislature Complex Jammu with Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam.

The Speaker also reviewed the progress of digitization and modernization work of the Assembly Secretariat Srinagar and Jammu. The issues for recruitment rules of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat being revised and updated after a gap of more than 50 years was also discussed.

The issues of up-gradation and renovation of MLA Hostels in Srinagar and Jammu for providing quality boarding and lodging facilities to Legislators at both the capital cities was also discussed and it was decided that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) would be prepared for the face-lifting and up-gradation of the MLA Hostels at Jammu and Srinagar.

The possibility of exploring alternate sites for construction of new MLAs hostels was also discussed. The Speaker discussed ongoing development of Ujjh Power Project in District Kathua and Reconstruction & Rehabilitation of those who are affected due to the construction of project. He also asked CS to expedite the process of a proposed Dayala Chak-Challan-Udhampur road project.
